Moissanite has been used as an imitation of diamond, because its properties are very close to diamond in many respects. Often even more spectacular than a diamond! The hardness of moissanite is very high, next only to diamond. Brilliance, i.e. shine, is very similar to diamond, and fire, i.e. the flickering of colors in the facets, is even greater than in diamond. Because of these properties, Moissanite is a valued material in its own right. Extremely durable and impressive looking stone.
