Beautifully colored large Cubic Zirconia (CZ) 8.98ct

A large, beautifully colored Cubic Zirconia gemstone. CZ is always synthetic, it does not occur in nature. Cubic Zirconia is often used as an imitation of other, more valuable gemstones, for example Diamond, Sapphire and Tanzanite. But CZ is a fine gem in its own right, on its own merits. CZ is a remarkably heavy mineral, the specific gravity is about 6, which makes it clearly heavier than all common gemstones. CZ is also very transparent, i.e. "clear", and it has a strong "fire", i.e. a flash of different colors created by light dispersions, which can be seen especially in colorless and lighter stones as a strong flicker of colors when turning the stone. And CZ is also a relatively hard mineral, with a Mohs scale of 8-8.5, which makes it a good and durable gemstone for everyday use.
